And here’s the latest and greatest. This week the second hour highlighted the ‘progressive’ side of bluegrass. More on that below. Next week North Carolina artists will be highlighted. Since I am in North Carolina, and there are so many great artists from here, it just seems natural.

Now as to this new format I’m using that highlights a different part of bluegrass each week. I have found over that last couple of months that defining what is ‘progressive’ is (at least for me) not all that easy/simple. Given that I will change the highlight rotation starting next month (June). The new hightlight rotation will be:

First week traditional/old school artists

Second week women artists

Third week North Carolina artists

Forth week gospel grass

Fifth week (when there is one) independent artists and new releases

I think this new format will work better as I go forward. What do you think? Let me know!

Mountain Home Music & Crossroads Music offered the project and we pitched it to AmazonMP3, where they featured it in the Amazon Gold Box section! This is huge for the label, artists, us, and Bluegrass as a whole. If this free sampler goes well for AmazonMP3 then it will open up the opportunity for other bluegrass albums to be featured to the masses. The album will be featured until the end of the month.

Please let me know if you would consider posting this on IBMA’s Facebook page. The link is http://amzn.to/Yhmcpe. Thanks so much for your time!

May 20 saw Old Crow Medicine Show, and the full house left with a deeper understanding of the old time band’s roots, beliefs, and triumphs. Stubbs mainly interviewed founders Ketch Secor and Critter Fuqua, who gave depth and humor to the night with their insight, light-heartedness, and contagious musical vigor.
